New York, New York – Neal Reed Newswire – Neal Reed Worldwide, the parent company of subsidiary label AFB Records has selected Oakland native Clinton Joseph Kelly Jr (BMI) pka Ice Dogg to head its AFB Records label. According to a Neal Reed Worldwide spokesperson, the label change in leadership is effective immediately.
AFB Records got off to a good start in 2011 with Detroit rapper Anthony Flawless Burns recording and releasing three albums in a year under the supervision of Detroit producer George Leslie Hicks. But ultimately the management was slow to sign other artists, and floundered even though the AFB label enjoyed global distribution in 240 markets.
According to music publisher Cheryle Neal Reed, the majority shareholder in AFB Records, “Now is the time to take the label to the next level. Clinton Kelly Jr is the founder and president of PISM Entertainment, a west coast label featuring rappers and R&B artists from around the country, and abroad. The AFB catalog and PISM catalogs are complimentary. Mr. Kelly is an expert in producing unique sounds that are relevant to the hip-hop, rap and freestyle genres. Mr. Kelly is a consummate storyteller, music producer and creative director. We think of him as the Andrew Lloyd Weber of his genre and have great expectations for him and our labels under his administration. We are working extremely closely with Mr. Kelly on a daily basis and know that Mr. Kelly has the drive, experience and technical and creative know-how to produce great music as he has already done. With our support we expect Mr. Kelly to take both the AFB and PISM labels to new levels”.
Clinton Joseph Kelly Jr, pka Ice Dogg, is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, performer, composer and audio engineer. He is a founding partner in KFNR Music Producers, and is a member of several bands. “Ice Dogg Bloo Bludd” is Mr. Kelly’s first release due out March 2014, on the newly reorganized PISM ENT label since its affiliation with Neal Reed Music Group.
